Fear Is Your Enemy

We know from this scripture that God has not given us fear, but it is very real and can stop you in your tracks.

For God has not given us the spirit of fear; But of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

I have battled this my entire life. As a child I had fear that was so severe …….

at times, I would go into a panic mode. Most of the time it was false evidence appearing real. I was delivered of this evil spirit in my early twenties. Fear that once stayed with me is not with me everyday, but now, it is still a temptation to fear. I guess when the devil knows he had you in an area before, then he uses what has always worked. I have had times in my life where the fear would turn into a panic attack.

I have had days where I would break down and say,” I am so tired of feeling this way”. Days where my faith feels like it is smaller than a mustard seed or non existent. Then sometimes I feel like a giant in faith, mainly when I am praying for the needs of others.

For those who have dealt with fear and anxiety, it can take over your life at times, and shut you down. Here are a few scriptures the Lord has used to help me renew my faith and drive fear out the door.

Sometimes I have to call on friends, family, and prayer warriors, because I do not have enough strength to stand in the midst of it. Just like Moses needed Aaron and Hur when he was to weak to continue holding up his own arms, it is ok to call on others.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication let your requests be made known unto God. And then the peace of God that passes all understanding shall guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6
You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever,For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.  Isaiah 26 : 3-4
I sought the Lord and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4

If you have battled fear and anxiety, even after you have been walking with Christ for years, do not be condemned. Just stand on Gods word and declare it out loud. Even Jesus did this when satan tempted him. He said, it is written.

He sent His word and healed them. And delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107:20

Gods word will prevail over all circumstances if we stand in faith and hold fast to our confession of hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23. It is easy to have a good confession when everything is good, but a whole different thing when we are weak.

I encourage you to not lose heart, but keep prevailing in prayer. We do win and have the victory in Jesus Christ!
