Be Strong, Fear Not!

Good morning friends! I am writing to you today to encourage you to receive strength from Gods word. Isaiah 35:3&4 ” Strengthen you the weak hands, and support the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; He will come and save you.”

I am encouraged when I see how Father God displays His faithfulness to His children, throughout His word. This is an old testament example, but He is the same. Malachi 3:6 He states, I am the Lord, I change not.

I would challenge you today to meditate on this scripture and speak it over yourself. Be Strong, fear not! It is a battle at times to not get distracted with all the negative reports that we are bombarded with. When we think about them it can easily put us in fear. This is why it is made clear in the word that it is so important what you think about.

Romans 12:2 is an instruction of wisdom that would be wise to obey and apply today. ” And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good acceptable, and perfect, will of God. “ This is our part, to renew our mind with the word. I always ask Holy Spirit to help me as scripture states, He is our helper. I believe when we call on the Holy Spirit we will have much greater success!

Its easy to say, Fear not, but much harder to appropriate when we are faced with giants. We all struggle at some point with fear if we are honest. I personally have had debilitating fear at times. I often walked right into the trap. Hearing the taunting from the enemy, and letting it overwhelm me. As I began to learn that the enemy brings sudden terror or fear to torment then it makes it a little easier to recognize the attacks. The shield of faith mentioned in Ephesians 6 is able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

In Isaiah 54:17 the word tells us that no weapon formed against thee shall prosper. We have to remember when the weapon is formed to not focus on the weapon, but rather how Big and powerful our God is. This was the mistake that was made with Goliath. They could only see how big Goliath was, which brought fear. David, knew His God and also knew who he was in Gods eyes. This gave David the confidence and perspective, to see past the problem and magnify the solution (God). I believe it was the time he spent alone with God, that gave him faith that he needed to conquer fear!

We can all learn from David, because there was a good reason to fear, in the natural. The giant was real and was taunting everyone. He was bigger and stronger in the natural than everyone else. I am asking for eyes to see our powerful savior Jesus, rather than the giants that taunt us. Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. It is what we look at that gives us either fear or faith. Jesus is the word, according to John 1:1. Perspective is needed to walk by faith and not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us to walk by faith, not by sight.

Today Father, I lift up my friends to you. Give us your perspective and the faith in Jesus to speak to the mountains of fear that stand in the way of all you desire to do in us and through us. Thank you for our daily bread of your wisdom, love, mercy, and grace to accomplish what you will. Holy Spirit, we admonish you to help us in our weakness. To not focus on our weakness, but rather your strength. Help to believe and receive your perfect love that casts out fear according to 1 John 4:18. That we would be strong, and fear not! in Jesus mighty and precious name I pray, AMEN!
